Dustdevils Drop to Tarleton State

STEPHENVILLE, Texas – The Texas A&M International University Dustdevils (5-6) took on the Tarleton State Texans (5-3) Friday afternoon at the Cecil Ballow Complex, dropping 10-7 as the Texans outnumbered the Dustdevils in hits.
 
TAMIU had 10 hits and seven runs throughout the game, which was not enough to keep up with Tarleton State's 18 hits on 10 runs.
 
TAMIU started senior Jared Curnel on the mound, and went to the bullpen four times following, using a total of five pitchers on the afternoon. Senior Dylan Allen (0-1) recorded the loss for the Dustdevils, as the Texans took the lead in the 7th inning, and TAMIU could not catch up with the bats.
 
Junior Michael Colorado led the Dustdevils, going 2-3 on the afternoon, recording one double and two RBI.
 
Senior Andrew Arteaga went 2-4, scoring two runs, and adding one RBI to the Dustdevils score. Junior Cody Perez and sophomore Daniel Cruz went 2-5 against the Texans.
 
The Dustdevils will be back in action tomorrow, as they take on Tarleton State again for a doubleheader.
