SAN ANTONIO, Texas (September 21, 2015) -- The TAMIU Women's Soccer squad were handed a 0-1 loss by the St. Mary's Rattlers at Sigma Beta Chi Field on Monday evening.
After a delayed starting time due to Dustdevils travel issues, the two Heartland Conference teams faced off in a non-conference contest that was very evenly matched. The Rattlers tallied the first and only goal, late in the 16th minute. Both teams had multiple opportunities to put points on the board, but the Dustdevils came up short.
Two cautions were given throughout the contest, both against TAMIU. The fierce play did not result to goals as they had planned. Yolanda Gonzalez lead the team with two shots on net.
The Dustdevils will remain on the road for their next five contests. Up next, they will travel to play Eastern New Mexico, for a re-match in non-conference play. TAMIU will return home on Sunday, October 11th for their Domestic Violence Awareness game, which kicks off at 2pm.
