LAREDO, Texas (November 10, 2016) - The Texas A&M International University Volleyball team concluded the 2016 regular season on Thursday night. TAMIU was dealt a 0-3 loss to St. Mary's. The Dustdevils close out the season with a record of 2-23 (2-12 HC).
SET 1: TAMIU 15 - STMU 25
After an early lead, TAMIU fell behind on a seven-point Rattler run. STMU would use short runs throughout the final portion of the set to open a 10 point lead before the final point was recorded.
SET 2: TAMIU 19, STMU 25
The Dustdevils and Rattlers traded leads throughout the first portion of the second set. STMU would take advantage of a six point run to open a 14-8 lead. TAMIU would bring the set within three before the Rattlers put away the final three points.
SET 3: TAMIU 19 - STMU 25
A late push in the third set energized the Dustdevils. After falling behind eight points early, TAMIU battled to tie the game at 24 late in the final set. The Rattlers would fend off the rally, taking the final set 26-24.
Senior
Samantha Gonzalez picked up four blocks in her final game as a Dustdevil. Gonzalez added five kills on the night.
Tori Zamora recorded 15 assists while
Ramey Gardner picked up 12 digs and five kills. Senior
Koral Wright recorded five digs.
Jordan Ruiz added a team high six kills.
Alexis Villa picked up a service ace and five assists in the loss.
