Box Score GOODWELL, Oklahoma (February 25, 2016) – The Texas A&M International University Men's Basketball team earned a season sweep over Oklahoma Panhandle State. The Dustdevils defeated the Aggies 78-54. TAMIU moves to 18-9 overall (13-6 HC).
 
TAMIU took control early in the first half. Kenny Hatch hit a three to put the Dustdevils up 17-16, TAMIU would not let OPSU take another lead in the game. At the end of the first half TAMIU led 44-31. A strong second half saw the Dustdevils hold the Aggies to just 23 points, outscoring their opponent by 11. The strong defensive effort allowed TAMIU to push the lead to 24 before the final buzzer sounded.
 
Offensively, TAMIU was led by Jordan VanDeKop. VanDeKop went 11-14 from the field, scoring 24 points and grabbed nine (9) rebounds. Hatch finished the game with 13 points, dishing out five (5) assists. Jake Eynon continued shooting well behind the arc, scoring 11 points, sinking a trio of three-point shots.
 
TAMIU shot 50% from the field, sinking 11 three-point baskets. The Dustdevils forced 11 turnovers and out-rebounded OPSU 40-20.
 
Head Coach Bryan Weakley commented after the game saying, "After a slow start defensively, we came around in the second half and played like I know we are capable."
 
The Dustdevils close out regular season play against Lubbock Christian on Saturday. TAMIU will travel to Lubbock, Texas. Tip-off is set for 2 pm.
