LAREDO,Texas TAMIU's Caylen Goff Brown and Racheal Emmanuel have been awarded Lone Star All-Conference team recognition in their record breaking senior seasons.
Senior guard Caylen Goff Brown started 27 games in the 28-game season, leading the men's basketball team with 421 points, averaging 15 points a game.
This scoring clinic broke the all-time single season scoring record of 410 points set by Denzel Bellot in 2016-17.
Goff Brown also broke the all-time single season record for threes, with 72 made beyond the arc and two games with six-made threes. This is the most threes in a single season since Patrick Carlson's 68 made in the 2014-15 season.
Last season Goff Brown was only averaging 9.7 points with 280 total points on the year.
Senior center Racheal Emmanuel in her first season with TAMIU averaged a double-double of 10.4 points per game and 10.3 rebounds per game. Emmanuel finishes first on the team and second in conference in total rebounds with 248 boards.
This is the most rebounds for a Dustdevil since 2013-14 with Malika Jackson's 255.
Both players are in their senior year and look to graduate in their respective majors with Caylen Goff Brown studying Psychology and Racheal Emmanuel studying Multidisciplinary studies.
