SAN ANTONIO, Texas (April 23, 2016) - The Texas A&M International University Softball team concluded their regular season against #10 St. Mary's University on Saturday. The Dustdevils were dealt a 1-7 loss. TAMIU is now 22-33 overall and 10-14 in the Heartland Conference. The loss marks the end of the regular season, however TAMIU has locked in the fifth and final spot in the Heartland Conference tournament.
The Dustdevils found themselves trailing early in the final game of the series. St. Mary's put up three runs in the second, opening up a 3-0 lead.
Brittany Mussett cut into the the deficit in the third. Mussett hit a sacrifice fly, scoring
Krissy Sardelich. The lead was cut to two following the RBI but the Rattlers put up runs in the following three innings, leading to the final score of 1-7.
Brandi Giles got the nod in the circle for TAMIU. Giles threw a complete game and moves to 2-5.
The Dustdevils will head back to San Antonio next week for the Heartland Conference tournament.
