DURANT, OKLAHOMA (September 3, 2016) - The Texas A&M International University Volleyball team concluded play in the South Central Classic on Saturday. TAMIU was defeated 1-3 by Central Oklahoma and 0-3 by host, Southeastern Oklahoma. TAMIU finishes the first weekend of play with a record of 0-4.
Game 1: TAMIU 1 - UCO 3 (25-19, 11-25, 12-25, 17-25)
Despite a fast start by TAMIU, UCO would outlast the Dustdevils in four sets. The Dustdevils opened a seven point lead in the first set, before taking the set 25-19. The Bronchos would rebound, winning the final three sets, taking the match.
Game 2: TAMIU 0 - SEOS 3
The Dustdevils concluded play in the South Central Classic against host, Southeastern Oklahoma. The Dustdevils would fall 0-3 in their final game of the weekend.
Ramey Gardner took control in game one. Gardner picked up 13 kills, recording 11 digs throughout the four sets.
Victoria Zamora finished with three aces and 15 assists. Newcomer
Nadiah Fry led the team in blocks, picking up three.
Gardner turned in another strong performance in game two. She added seven kills and an ace.
Alexis Villa finished with 14 assists, while
Alejandra Bustamante finished with eight digs.
TAMIU will be back in action next weekend in Salt Lake City, Utah.
