LUBBOCK, Texas (October 12, 2017) – The Texas A&M International University women's soccer team struggled offensively in a 2-0 setback to Lubbock Christian on Thursday afternoon at LCU Soccer Field. The Dustdevils were outshot 15-6 as they drop to2-8-2 overall and 1-7-1 in Heartland Conference play while the Lady Chaps improve to 8-4-1 (5-3-1 HC).

Araceli Martinez had a team-high two shots while four others Dustdevils had one shot apiece.
Aubrey Hall (2-6-2) made five saves on 15 shots bringing her season total to 51.
The Dustdevils went down 1-0 in the fifth minute on Erica Aviles' first goal of the season. The Lady Chaps came close to adding a second at 13:55 on a shot from Claudia Sanchez but Hall was there to tip the ball off the crossbar.
Valeria Macias had the best chance for the Dustdevils in the first 30 minutes but her shot at the top of the area went over the cross bar after nice build-up play
Abigail Colmenares and Castro. Martinez had the TAMIU's second shot of the first half in the 44
th minute with LCU's Hannah Wise making the save.
The Dustdevils went down two goals 11 minutes after halftime as Sanchez scored her third of the season from just outside the six-yard box.
Samantha Ruiz, making her second appearance of the season for TAMIU, came close to getting a goal back in the 60
th minute but Wise was there to make the save.
The Lady Chaps defense continued their dominant play on the defensive side of the ball as TAMIU recorded only two shots over the final 30 minutes with
Cio Bargallo coming the closes to scoring in the final minute of play.
The Dustdevils travel to Edmond, Okla. for a match against Oklahoma Christian on Saturday, Oct. 14. Kickoff is set for 1:00 p.m.
