TAMIU fell 7-8 in extra innings in game one. The Dustdevils picked up a 2-0 win in game two, moving to 9-21 overall (3-11 Heartland Conference).

Game 1: TAMIU 7 - STMU 8
A late Rattler comeback spoiled an early lead for TAMIU in game one.

The Dustdevils plated four runs in the second inning to open an early 4-0 lead. Alex Medina put TAMIU ahead 1-0, sending a homerun over the left field wall to start scoring in the second. Adrian Castillo would add a second Dustdevil run, driving in Erasmo Gonzalez Jr. on an RBI single. An errant throw on a ball hit by Alex Cabezas would plate two more Dustdevil runs, leading to the early 4-0 lead.

Medina would come around to score in the third on a wild pitch, putting TAMIU ahead 5-0.

The Rattlers would pick up a run in the third before TAMIU stretched the lead to six in the fifth inning. An infield single off the bat of Sergio Pollorena would allow Medina to score the sixth Dustdevil run. Castillo would add a second RBI, driving in Pollorena on an RBI single.

The Rattlers would complete a comeback in the seventh, plating three runs, forcing extra innings. St. Mary's plated a run in the bottom of the eighth, winning the game 8-7.

Devon Torres tossed six innings on the mound. Torres allowed just two earned runs. Jorge Gonzalez tossed a third of an inning before being relieved by Nick Perales. Perales took the loss on the mound, moving to 1-1.

Game 2: TAMIU 2 - STMU 0
A true pitchers duel brewed in game two. Neither team would plate a run through six complete innings of play.
