The Dustdevils controlled much of the first half with eights shots to the three of DBU with Rivera recorded TAMIU's first shot on goal of the match at 10:11 forcing a save from DBU's Tyler Hofmann.
Max Cruz recorded the next two shots just four minutes later sending one over the crossbar with another getting blocked.

th minute but the Patriots' short-stopper was once again up for the challenge.
Elias Perales recorded his first shot on-target of the season at 22:30 ending with another save. Herrera came up big at 29:52 making a point-blank save on a shot from DBU's Brooks Friedman to keep the Patriots off the board.
The Dustdevils struck first with a rocket of a shot just outside the penalty area from
Alan Rivera at 51:37. The senior registered his first career goal as a result of DBU unable to clear a corner kick with Montabes sending a ball into the box right onto the foot of Rivera.
The Patriots equalized five minutes later on a header near the right post from Friedman on a cross from the left corner.
TAMIU came close to equaling in the 73
rd minute as both Rivera and Perales both hat shots on-target. After a flurry of substitutions, it was DBU who came close to stealing the game at the whistle but Herrera made two saves on Ethan Martinez.
Both teams struggled to find any offensive rhythm during the two overtime periods with DBU recording the only shot on-goal.
The Dustdevils will finish their four-match road trip next weekend with matches against West Texas A&M (Sept. 21) and Eastern New Mexico (Sept. 23).
