Dallas, Texas (September 21, 2017) - The Texas A&M International University Volleyball team opened their Heartland Conference schedule against Dallas Baptist University on Thursday night. TAMIU was defeated 0-3, falling to 2-12 overall (0-1 Heartland Conference).

THE MATCH: TAMIU 0 - DBU 3
The Dustdevils would fall in consecutive sets to open Heartland play (16-25, 18-25, 15-25). 

A close first set saw DBU outscore TAMIU 15-7 in the final half of the first set. 

TAMIU would pull within two points of DBU in the second set before the Patriots put home three straight, dealing TAMIU an 18-25 loss. 

The Dustdevils would fall behind early in the third set and DBU did not allow TAMIU to come within two points. The Patriots would extend their lead to 11 before setting the Dustdevils down 25-15.

UP NEXT:
TAMIU continues play on the road this weekend with a matchup against St. Edward's University. The Dustdevils will take part in a tri-match with the Hilltoppers and Henderson State. Play from Austin, Texas is set begin at 12 p.m.
