AUSTIN, Texas (September 23, 2017) - The Texas A&M International University Volleyball team took on St. Edward's University and Henderson State on the campus of St. Edward's on Saturday. TAMIU fell 0-3 to St. Edward's before falling 1-3 to Henderson State. The Dustdevils move to 2-14 overall (0-2 Heartland Conference).
MATCH 1: TAMIU 0 - SEU 3
TAMIU fell 0-3 in their second Heartland Conference match of the 2017 season (24-26, 11-25, 14-25).
A close first set saw the Dustdevils and Hilltoppers trade points throughout as neither team would take control. The Dustdevils were one point away from clinching the first set before SEU put up three straight points, taking the set 26-24.
The Hilltoppers would control the remainder of the match, dealing the Dustdevils an 11-25 and 14-25 loss.
MATCH 2: TAMIU 1 - HSU 3
The Dustdevils would close out play in the tri-match against Henderson State University. TAMIU fell 1-3 (27-25, 19-25, 18-25, 17-25).
TAMIU would take the first set 27-25 before falling in consecutive sets to the Reddies.
The loss Saturday mirrors the last matchup TAMIU had with Henderson State when the Reddies dealt TAMIU a 1-3 loss in 2010.
