LAREDO, Texas (September 30, 2017) - The Texas A&M International University Volleyball team hosted Lubbock Christian in the 2017 home opener on Saturday. The Dustdevils fell 1-3, moving to 2-15 overall (0-3 Heartland Conference).
TAMIU would host their first game in the TAMIU KCB since the 2016 season on Saturday when they hosted Lubbock Christian. TAMIU would battle with the Lady Chaps before falling 1-3 (25-20, 21-25, 22-25, 12-25).
TAMIU would take a three-point advantage in the middle of the first set after playing neck and neck with the Lady Chaps. The Dustdevils would hold that lead throughout the remainder of the stretch, stretching the lead to five at it's highest point. TAMIU would allow LCU within four late before picking up the set point up 24-20.
LCU would take an early lead in the second set, jumping ahead 5-1. TAMIU would battle back to take the lead twice before LCU put the set away with a late five point run.
TAMIU would take the early lead in the third set, jumping out to a 9-5 lead over LCU. The Lady Chaps would come back to tie the game at 18 before taking the third set 25-22.
The Lady Chaps would dominate play in the fourth set, preventing a Dustdevil comeback. LCU took the final set 25-12.

The Dustdevils head back out on the road after just a week at home. TAMIU will take on 2016 Heartland Conference Champion Arkansas - Fort Smith on Thursday, October 5 before taking on Newman on October 9.
