Road swing ends in Claremore on Saturday

CLAREMORE, Oklahoma (January 19, 2018) - The Texas A&M International University Women's Basketball team will close a two game road trip against Rogers State on Saturday. 

THE DUSTDEVILS:
TAMIU comes into Saturday's game for their first Heartland Conference matchup with the Hillcats. The Dustdevils fell for the fifth time in Heartland action on Thursday night in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Entering play, the Dustdevils sit at 2-17 overall and 0-5 in the Heartland Conference. 

THE ALL-TIME SERIES:
Saturday's game marks the sixth all-time matchup between the Hillcats and Dustdevils. The teams split a season series last season while the Dustdevils hold a 3-2 overall lead the all-time series. TAMIU's last win came on December 19, 2016 when the Dustdevils won 45-39 in Laredo.

SCOUTING THE HILLCATS:
Rogers State picked up their first win in Heartland Conference play on Thursday when they defeated St. Mary's 75-66. The Hillcats sit at 1-5 in Heartland action and 5-11 overall. 

Prior to Thursday's win, RSU had lost six straight games, three of which were Heartland Conference games. 

The Hillcats are averaging 61 points per game this season while shooting 40.5% from the field and 34.4% from behind the arc. 

Lauren Schuldt leads the Hillcats in scoring with 14.3 points per game. Darian Jackson is the other Hillcat averaging double-digit points, scoring 11.4 points per game this season. Schuldt also leads the team in rebounds with 5.3 boards per game. 

DUSTDEVIL LEADERS:
The Dustdevils are averaging 59.7 points per game this season while shooting 36.4% from the field and 25.9% from behind the arc. 

The Dustdevil offense runs through Tantashea Giger who averages 16.3 points per game. Passionate Amukamara averages 12.2 points per game as the only other Dustdevil averaging 10 points or more per game. Julia Hanni led the team in scoring for the first time this season in Thursday's loss to UAFS with 11. 

UP NEXT:
After Saturday's game the Dustdevils have a week off before hosting St. Edward's University in the TAMIU KCB. The Dustdevils and Hilltoppers will face off on Saturday, January 27 with tip-off set for 1pm.
