TAMIU Fall To St. Edward’s 2-0

AUSTIN, Texas - Texas A&M International (6-6-1, 3-5-1 HC) dropped a 2-0 decision to St. Edward's (5-6-1, 4-4-1 HC) on Thursday.

The Hilltoppers wasted no time pushing the offensive pressure in the game. With several close calls early, they finally broke through to score the game's first goal as SEU's Kieran Furse fired a shot in from outside the box that hit off of the far side post and bounced in to go up 1-0 in the 20th minute.

The Dustdevils had a hard time getting around the Hilltoppers defense, as they were only able to get off one shot from Rafael Montabes in the first half.

The second half was almost a mirror image of the first, as SEU kept up the offense pressure and confounded TAMIU on the defensive end. 

The Hilltoppers got their second and final goal in the 58th minute. The Dustdevils had one opportunity to get on the board with Montabes firing in a shot, but had it saved by the SEU keeper.

TAMIU was outshot 9-3, with four shots on goal compared to one. 

The Dustdevils continue their road trip on Saturday, Oct. 13 as they travel Dallas, Texas to face off against Dallas Baptist.
