It didn't take long for the offense to get going as the Jets' Ignacio Lerech beat Carlos Herrera on a shot to the far right post to go up 1-0 at 9:45. However, Charlie Michel scored the equalizer 30 seconds later from 20 yards out, beating the keeper to upper right of the net.
Neither team would be able to score again in the half, leaving a 1-1 tie goin into the half.Â
NU broke the stalemate in the 62nd minute as Tommy Fiszel had a shot deflect off the keeper and roll in off the left post to go up 2-1. Fiszel would add to the lead with his second goal in the 80th minute, as he beat the keeper one-on-one on the right side.Â
TAMIU attempted to mount a comeback as Andres Ogaz scored on corner kick from Michel in the 86th minute to cut the lead 3-2. However, they ran out of time.
The Dustdevils will continue their road trip on Thursday, Oct. 11 with a trip to Austin, Texas to face off against St. Edwards.Â
