AUSTIN, Texas - Texas A&M International (5-20, 3-8 HC) fell in straight sets (15-25, 13-25, 13-25) to St. Edward's (16-11, 6-5 HC) on Thursday.
In the first set, things were pretty close early on as SEU lead 5-4 early. However, thanks to multiple runs the Hilltoppers ran up a 18-10 lead. They eventually took the set 25-15.
SEU carried the momentum into the second set, as they opened on a 4-1 run. The Dustdevils managed to cut the lead to 11-7. The Hilltoppers responded with a 7-2 run, taking a 19-10 lead. They closed out the set on a 6-1 run to take the set 25-13.
The third set began much like the previous set with SEU taking a 5-2 lead early. However, as was the case with the first two sets, the Hilltoppers took control with multiple runs. They closed out the set on a 7-1 run, claiming the set and match 25-13.
TAMIU will close out the regular season on Saturday, Nov. 3 as they travel to Dallas, Texas to face off against Dallas Baptist.
