GOLDEN, Colo. - Texas A&M International women's basketball (0-6) dropped a 88-64 decision to Colorado School of Mines (2-2) on Friday.
Jaden Gonzalez led the Dustdevils with 20 points as well as three rebounds, an assist, a block and a steal. Christine Ortega posted 13 points with three rebounds. Ciera Walker finished one point shy of a double-double with nine points and 13 rebounds, in addition to three steals and a block.
The first quarter was close early as both teams traded leads. However, the Orediggers took control with just under five minutes left in the period at 7-5. They pushed the lead out to 15-5 with 3:16 left as part of a 8-0 run. CSM took a 20-11 lead into the final 10 minutes of the half.
The second quarter was all Orediggers, as they managed to push their lead out to 39-22, and took a 39-25 advantage into the half.
CSM continued to roll in the second half, and pushed their lead out to 20 points at 73-53 with 4:21 left in the game. They eventually took the victory 88-64.
TAMIU will now travel to Denver, Colo. on Saturday, Nov. 24 to face off against Regis University.
