MARYVILLE, Mo. - Texas A&M men's basketball (3-9) dropped a 85-46 decision to No. 2 Northwest Missouri State (11-0) on Tuesday.
Xabier Gomez led the Dustdevils with 16 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. Steven Coulanges posted 10 points off the bench with eight rebounds. Danny Spinuzza contributed eight points with a rebound, an assist and a steal.
The game began fairly tight as both teams kept the the lead within two possessions for the part of the half. The Bearcats took control of the game with a 7-0 run to take a 20-9 lead with 12:45 left in the half. They continued to build their advantage, taking a 41-22 lead into the intermission.
NWMSU continued to use their momentum in the second half rolling up their first 20-point lead at 43-22 to open the period. They took their first 30-point lead at 61-30 with 12 minutes left in the game. The Bearcats eventually took the game in a 85-46 victory.
The Dustdevils will be back in action as they close out the calendar year on Sunday, Dec. 30 in Commerce, Texas against Texas A&M-Commerce.Â
