2017-18:
Was the only player on team to start in 29 games where he averaged 11.1 points and 3.2 rebounds in a team-high 32.1 minutes per game. He shot a team-high 43.3% from 3-point range and 43.2% from the field and 69.% from the free throw line. Made a team-high 79 free throws while finishing second on the team in 3-pointers with 39. Finished second on the team and seventh in the Heartland Conference with 37 steals. Recorded 10 games with multiple steals including a career-high 5 against Arkansas-Fort Smith on Feb. 15. Scored a career-high 26 points going 8-of-13 from the field and 7-of-10 from the free throw line in the Dustdevils Heartland Conference opener against St. Mary’s on Dec. 9. Also reached the 20 point plateau with 21 points against Arkansas-Fort Smith on Feb. 15. 

2015-17: New Mexico Junior College
Appeared in 29 games including 14 games as a sophomore for the Thunderbirds in 2016-17registering 617 minutes. He went 75-of-191 (39.3%) from the field and 57-of-78 (73.1%) from the free-throw line averaging 7.9 points per game to go along with 98 rebounds, 46 assists and 33 steals.
 
High School:
Attended Collegi Badalones where he played basketball.
 
Personal:
Gomez is the son of Xavier Gomez and Yamile Napoles. He chose TAMIU because it thought would be the best place for him to finish his studies. His inspirational figure is Michael Jordan. After graduationg, he plans on playing professional basketball.
