Box Score LAREDO, Texas. - Texas A&M women's basketball (0-12) dropped a 87-44 decision to UT Permian Basin (3-7) to close out 2018 on Saturday.
Vanessa Oyola led the Dustdevils with 15 points as well as five rebounds, two assists, a steal and a block. Christine Ortega posted 13 points with five rebounds and a steal. Ciera Walker contributed five points, nine rebounds, four steals and a block.
TAMIU started slow out of the gate with the Falcons leading 22-11 after the first quarter. UTPB continued to roll in the second quarter outscoring the Dustdevils 26-9 in the period and taking a 48-20 advantage into the half.
TAMIU didn't fair much better in the third quarter as they found themselves out scored 26-12. They finally began to show some life in the final 10 minutes as they were only outscored 13-12. However, the Falcons took the game 87-44.
The Dustdevils will be back in action on Thursday, Jan. 10 as they open up Heartland Conference play at home against Lubbock Christian at 5:30 p.m.
