LAREDO, Texas (February 15, 2018) - The Texas A&M International University Women's Basketball team hosted Arkansas-Fort Smith in the TAMIU KCB on Thursday night. Despite 21 points and 11 boards from
Tantashea Giger, the Dustdevils fell 52-67.
AFTER 1: TAMIU 14 - UAFS 18
TAMIU would come out of the gate strong, taking a 10-4 first-quarter lead. UAFS would come back with two minutes left in the first quarter to take an 18-14 advantage after 10 minutes of action.
AT THE HALF: TAMIU 24 - UAFS 41
The Lady Lions would take a controlling lead in the second quarter, outscoring the Dustdevils 23-10. The 13-point deficit would lead to a 17-point halftime deficit.
AFTER 3: TAMIU 36 - UAFS 54
The Dustdevils would come out of the break holding the Lady Lions to just 13 points. TAMIU was held to just 12, allowing the Lady Lions to pull ahead by 18 after 30 minutes of action.
FINAL: TAMIU 52 - UAFS 67
The Dustdevils would rebound from a combined 22 points in the previous 20 minutes with 16 in the final quarter of play on Thursday. TAMIU held UAFS to 13 points in the final quarter, cutting the deficit to 15 as the final buzzer sounded.
