LAREDO, Texas (February 17, 2018) - The Texas A&M International University Women's Basketball team closed out play at home on Saturday. The Dustdevils hosted Rogers State University. Despite a packed house for Senior Day and the culmination of Spirit Week, TAMIU fell 64-74. The Dustdevils now sit at 2-24 overall and 0-12 in Heartland Conference action.
AFTER 1: TAMIU 8 - RSU 11
The Dustdevils and Hillcats would come out of the gate slow on Saturday. The teams would combine for just 19 points in the first 10 minutes of action. It would be RSU who prevailed, putting up 11 while holding TAMIU to just eight.
AT THE HALF: TAMIU 21 - RSU 32
RSU would use a strong second quarter to pull away from the Dustdevils. The Hillcats outscored Rogers State 21-13, stretching their early three-point lead to eight.
AFTER 3: TAMIU 41 - RSU 45
TAMIU would come out of the break hot, returning the second quarter favor with a seven-point advantage of their own. The Dustdevils outscored the Hillcats 20-13 in the third quarter, cutting the lead to just four minutes with 10 minutes remaining.
FINAL: TAMIU 64 - RSU 74
The games highest scoring period would come in the fourth quarter for both teams. The Dustdevils put up 23 points while RSU put up 29. The six-point difference allowed RSU to take the game by 10.
STAT LEADERS:
Tantashea Giger picked up her second straight double-double in the KCB on Saturday. The Junior put up 17 points while grabbing 11 rebounds.

The Dustdevils final regular season games will be played on the road. TAMIU's first matchup will be against St. Edward's University on Wednesday, February 21.
