WICHITA, Kansas (February 9, 2018) - The Texas A&M International University Women's Basketball team will close a two-game road swing on Saturday in Wichita, Kansas. The Dustdevils will take on Newman University for the second and final regular season meeting. Tip-off is set for 1 p.m.
The Dustdevils enter play after falling to Oklahoma Christian University on Thursday night. The Dustdevils kept the game close through 20 minutes of play but OC was able to pull away in the third quarter. A 10-point deficit in the third allowed OC to take the game 72-87. TAMIU will enter Saturday's game at 2-21 and 0-9 in Heartland Conference action. TAMIU's last win came on December 1 when the Dustdevils defeated Huston-Tillotson.Â
SCOUTING THE JETS:
The Jets enter play at 16-9 with a Heartland Conference record of 7-4. The Jets fell to St. Mary's 52-38 on Thursday night after winning their previous three games.Â
Newman averages 71.1 points per game this season while holding opponents to 60.3 points per game.Â
In the previous matchup, Newman defeated TAMIUÂ 89-63 in Laredo.Â
