LAREDO, Texas (April 5, 2018) - The Texas A&M International University Baseball team returns to action on Friday afternoon. The Dustdevils will host Oklahoma Christian University in a four-game Heartland Conference series at Jorge Haynes Field.

THE ALL-TIME SERIES:
Friday's series opener will mark the 12th all-time meeting between the Dustdevils and Eagles. The Eagles currently hold the all-time series lead at 10-1. TAMIU fell to OC 0-3 in a three-game series in 2017. The series was played in Edmond, Oklahoma. The Dustdevils last win came at home when TAMIU defeated the Eagles 6-2 in the series opener at Uni-trade Stadium on March 24, 2016.
LOOKING AT THE EAGLES:
The Eagles enter play at 12-15 overall with a 3-5 mark in the Heartland Conference. The weekend series will be the first and only time the teams match up in the 2018 regular season. In their last series, OC defeated St. Mary's 3-1 over a four-game set. The Eagles fell in the second game and come into play after winning two straight games.
Gabe Rodery, Robbie Suhr, and Connor Litterell all picked up wins in the previous series. Litterell tossed a seven inning shutout against the Rattlers, allowing just four hits while Rodery went the distance in a 3-2 win in game three.
Jake Collins leads the Eagles at the plate, batting .343 on the season. Collins has three homeruns and 22 RBI through 27 games, posting a Heartland average of .367.
LOOKING AT THE DUSTDEVILS:
The Dustdevils come into the weekend after splitting a four-game set with Rogers State last weekend. The Dustdevils won games one and three, moving to 3-5 in the Heartland Conference. Through 29 games, the Dustdevils post an 11-18 record.
Mathew Trevino leads the team with a batting average of .333 with three doubles and 11 RBI.
Mario Ramirez has started 27 games this season and holds an average of .325.
Daniel Espinosa sits at .318 while
Jorge Napoles posts an average of .309.
Eleazar Rojas is tied with a team high two wins this season while leading the team in strikeouts with 45 in 31 innings pitched.
Hugo Mendiola is 2-3 with 37 and a third innings pitched, recording 29 strikeouts.
Ruben Solis leads the team in innings pitched with 38 and a third with a record of 1-3.

The Dustdevils will head to Lubbock, Texas for their next set of games. TAMIU will face Lubbock Christian in a four-game Heartland Conference series on April 13-14. First pitch on April 13 is set for 1:00 p.m.
