LAREDO, Texas - Texas A&M International (3-3-2, 2-2-1 HC) fell to West Texas A&M (7-1-1, 3-1-0 HC) on Thursday night.

The Buffs waisted little time getting on the board first as WT's Callum Challinor knocked in a shot off a of a rebound to go up 1-0 in the fifth minute. The Buffs added to their lead in the 36th minute as Julio Vargas chipped a ball over Carlos Herrera for the second goal.

The final minute of the first half was full of action as WT's Troy Reeves headed in a goal off a corner kick in the 44th minute, but the Dustdevils would answer 13 seconds later as Rafael Montabes got TAMIU on the board in the final second of the period with an assist from Cem Izgec.

The second half devolved into a defensive stalemate. However, the Buffs would add to goals late in 87th minute to close the game out at 5-1.

The Dustdevils continue Heartland Conference play on Saturday, Sept. 29 as they welcome Eastern New Mexico at 1 p.m.
