Dustdevils close out two-game road trip at Lubbock Christian

LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas A&M International University women's soccer (2-7-2, 1-4-2 LSC) suffered a 2-0 Lone Star Conference road setback to the Lubbock Christian Lady Chaparrals (8-4-1, 5-2-1 LSC) on Saturday afternoon.

The Lady Chaps got on the board 8:26 into the match when Allison Scott finished a feed from Gabby Gomez that got by Dustdevil goalkeeper, Elena Rivera, to give LCU a one-goal advantage (1-0).

In the 19th minute, Scott tried to tally her second goal of the match, but Rivera rejected the shot to tally her first save of the match.
 
LCU forward Hollie Windham fired a shot but was stopped by Rivera that would ultimately send a 1-0 match into the break. 

In the 58th minute, Gomez capped off her three-point performance by scoring a goal off of assists from Celia Duarte and Victoria Ramirez to extend LCU's lead to a pair of goals (2-0).

The Dustdevils recorded their lone shot on goal of the match in the 85th minute when Vivian Martinez had her shot saved by Lady Chap netminder, Hannah Wise to settle the 2-0 final.

Rivera stopped seven shots for TAMIU while Wise registered one save for LCU.

The Dustdevils will return home to host a Lone Star Conference matchup against Eastern New Mexico (4-6-1, 1-6-0 LSC) on Thursday, Oct. 24 at 7 p.m.
