Dustdevils conclude three-game series with Oklahoma Christian University

OKLAHOMA CITY - Texas A&M International University softball (12-16, 6-6 Heartland Conference) fell to Oklahoma Christian University (21-5, 5-2 Heartland Conference) by a score of 11-0 on Saturday afternoon.

In the opening inning, the Eagles jumped out to a strong start as they put up four runs off of Dustdevils starter, Miranda Martinez (L, 1-1: 1.1 IP, 6 H, 7 ER, K, BB). The inning was highlighted by a Lindsey Stoeckel two-run home run that scored Bailey Strecker to give OC a 4-0 edge.

The Eagles continued to pile on the runs as they scored a trio of runs in both the second and third innings. In the second inning, Bridget White smacked a two-RBI double to left center field that drove home Lacey Davidson and Payton Sabolski off of relief pitcher, Melanie Lint (2.2 IP, 5 H, 4 R, 3 ER, 2 BB).

In the home half of the third frame, the Eagles used a pair of run scoring singles and a sacrifice fly to extend their lead to double-digits (10-0).

In the fourth inning, Daelyn Denny (2-for-3, RBI, R) hit a double down the left field line that scored another run and would ultimately secure the 11-0 run-rule victory.

For Oklahoma Christian, Madison Hagood (W, 10-2: 5 IP, 2 H, 3 K, BB) had a phenomenal day in the circle as she pitched five innings and only surrendered a pair of hits in five innings of work.

The Dustdevils will host a Heartland Conference twin bill against Rogers State University (19-7, 6-3 Heartland Conference) on Tuesday, March 19 at 12 p.m.
