SAN ANTONIO -Â Texas A&M International baseball (14-24, 5-7 HC) fell 11-1 to St. Mary's (24-16, 5-7 HC) in the series finale on Friday.
The Dustdevils could not figure out the Rattler pitchers in the game, only scattering five hits and leaving five runners stranded.
St. Mary's got on the board early with two runs in the first inning. One run cam in on a RBI single through the left side, with the other coming in on a wild pitch. They pushed their lead out 3-0 in the second, with a run scoring on a RBI single to left center.
The Rattlers broke the game open in the fifth inning, plating seven runs to take a 10-0 lead. The first three runs came in on three different RBI singles. The final four runs scored on two two-RBI doubles, one down the left field line and the other down the right field line.
With their backs against the wall in the seventh inning, TAMIU was able to push across its only run as Adrian Castillo scored on a wild pitch.
Unfortunately, the rally would be killed in the bottom half as St. Mary's ended the game with a RBI double to right center to take a 11-1 victory.
Mason Minister (4-0, 7.0 IP, 5 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 5 SO) earned the win. Ruben Solis (1-8, 4.1 IP, 6 H, 6 R, 6 ER, 5 BB, 1 SO) took the loss.
The Dustdevils will return home for the penultimate home series on Thursday, April 18 as they play host to Lubbock Christian in a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m.
