LAREDO, Texas – Texas A&M International University women's soccer (1-3-0) will open Lone Star Conference play on the road against St. Edward's University (1-4-0) on Thursday, Sept. 26 in Austin, Texas. The Dustdevils will then travel to Angelo State University (4-1-0) on Saturday, Sept. 28 in San Angelo, Texas.
Last Saturday, TAMIU suffered a 3-1 setback in a non-conference neutral-site matchup against Northwestern Oklahoma State University (3-3-0). In the 36th minute
Vivian Martinez finished a feed from
Samantha Ruiz for the equalizer and her second goal of the season. Martinez currently team highs of five points and seven shots on goal.
Entering Thursday's game, the Hilltoppers have forfeited just four goals in five matches this season. The lone goal for head coach Nick Cowell's team was Sarah Preston in shutout victory over MSU Denver.
Kickoff is set for 4:30 p.m.
Angelo State currently sits in third in the Lone Star Conference standings thanks to four shutouts on the season. Head coach Travis McCorkle's roster boasts six different goal scorers highlighted by Valerie Solis who is tied for second in the LSC with four goals scored.
