TAMIU men's soccer opens up season in South Dakota

LAREDO, Texas – Texas A&M International men's soccer will open up the season on Friday, Sept. 6 and Sunday, Sept. 8 with a pair of non-conference matches at Sioux Park Stadium in Sioux Falls, S.D. 

TAMIU looks to continue its success from last year on the pitch after putting together a record of 8-6-2 in 2018.  Head coach Claudio Arias will have new assistant coaches on the sidelines this season as Jonathan Tiggs and Ladule Lako LoSarah bolster his staff.

Ryan Thompson will be making his debut as head coach of the South Dakota School of Mines Hardrockers after serving a year as the assistant coach for the Hardrockers last season.   
  
The 'Rockers concluded the 2018 campaign with a 2-13-3 record. 

Kickoff is slated for Friday, Sept. 6 at 12 p.m. 

TAMIU will then square off against the University of Mary Marauders, who went 4-9-1 in 2018 under head coach Dave Cook. 

Cook's roster features multiple international players that includes two players from Germany and two from England. The Marauders also have players from Haiti, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Brazil, India, Italy and Spain.  

Kickoff is scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 8 at 12 p.m.
