LAWTON, Okla. -Â Texas A&M International baseball (3-7, 3-7 LSC) dropped a 6-3 decision in the series opener to Cameron (1-9, 1-9 LSC) on Friday.
TAMIU got things started early as Luis Flores put the Dustdevils up 1-0 with a solo bomb to left in the first inning.
The Aggies got on the board in the bottom of the fourth, scoring two runs for a 2-1 lead. The first run scored on a sacrifice fly to right, while the second run scored on a passed ball.
The Dustdevils retook the lead 3-2 in the top of the seventh. Isaac Gonzalez scored on a Phillip Sanchez RBI single to right. Sanchez later scored thanks to an Anthony Handel RBI double to right. However, CU got both runs back for a 4-3 lead. One run scored on an RBI ground out to second, while the other run scored on a balk.
Cameron put the game away in the bottom of the eighth for a 6-3 victory, thanks to a two RBI double.
The Aggies' Tyler Cornett (1-0) earned the win in the decision, with Jayce Clem (1) earning the save. TAMIU's Hugo Mendiola (0-1) took the loss.
