LAWTON, Okla. -Â Texas A&M International baseball (4-10, 4-10 LSC) fell 12-2 in the series finale to Cameron (4-10, LSC) on Sunday.
The Dustdevils got on the board first in the top of the second with an early 2-0 lead. Isaac Gonzalez scored a Paris Johnson RBI double to left. Johnson then scored thanks to a Hunter Trinidad RBI single. The Aggies responded with two runs of their own in the bottom half to tie the game at 2-2. Both runs came in on a two-run blast over the left field fence.
CU took the lead 3-2 in the third on a sacrifice fly to right. They added two more runs in the fifth to push out to a 5-2 advantage, with both runs scoring on two solo homers two left.
The Aggies tacked on another run in the sixth off a sacrifice fly to center.Â
CU broke the game open in the seventh with three runs for a 9-2 lead. The first run scored on an RBI single to right. The next run scored on a fielder's choice, with the last run scoring on another RBI single to right.
In the eighth inning, the Aggies took the victory 12-2, scoring three more runs. One run scored on a wild pitch. CU walked the game off with a two RBI single to right.
The Aggies' Tyler Garcia (1-0) earned the win in the decision. TAMIU's Jospeh Garza-Delapena (0-3) took the loss.
The Dustdevils will be back in action on Friday, Feb. 28 as they play host to Lubbock Christian in a four-game series.
