SAN ANGELO, Texas – Texas A&M International volleyball dropped its road conference match against Angelo State this afternoon, 3-0.

The Rambelles (13-2, 6-0 LSC) were in charge the opening two sets, but the Dustdevils (1-11, 1-4 LSC) battled in the third set despite dropping the set.

Angelo State won set one by a score of 25-18, then rushed to a 25-15 second set win.

In set three, TAMIU was in it until the end, falling 25-23 in the frame.

The Dustdevils trailed by four early in the set, 8-4, but continued to stay within two or three points after gaining some momentum. Trailing by three, 23-20, late in the set, the Dustdevils got two consecutive points to go down one, but the teams traded the final three points.

Mackenzie Catalina led TAMIU with seven kills, while senior
Lorena Martin Perez (5) and junior
Hannah Thompson (4) followed behind.

Daniela Sandoval led the Dustdevils with 13 digs, while freshman
Isabella Martinez led the team in assists with 15.

The Dustdevils return home for a weekend set, beginning Friday, Oct. 8 against DBU. The match is schedule to begin at 6 p.m.
