OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – Texas A&M International men's soccer bounced back and re-entered the win column, blanking Oklahoma Christian (1-7-3, 0-3-1 LSC), 3-0 on the road.

It was a quiet first half, but nearing the end of the first 45 minutes, the Dustdevils (5-7-1, 2-2-0 LSC) took a 1-0 lead.

At 40:52, senior
Johan Portales buried a penalty kick to score his fourth goal of the season and his second in as many games.

TAMIU out of the break found that extra gear and expanded its lead to 2-0 in the first five minutes of the second half.

Sophomore
Gabriel Gacovicaj scored his third goal of the season at 49:53, doing so on an assist by freshman
Jacob Restrepo, who picked up his third helper of the year.

A little over 15 minutes later, the Dustdevils got another insurance goal, when senior
Kristian Colaci scored his Lone Star Conference leading 11th goal of the campaign at 65:09.

TAMIU from there on limited the Eagles and closed out the shutout performance.

The Dustdevils outshot Oklahoma Christian 13-10 on the night, despite being outshot 6-5 on net. Corner kicks favored TAMIU 5-4 in the contest.

Gacovicaj led the Dustdevils taking three shots, with his lone shot on goal going for a score. Five Dustdevils took two shots on the night including Colaci and Portales, as well as junior
Lassana Diakite and freshmen

Giovanni Pezzi.

Now back in the win column, TAMIU prepares for its second consecutive home match against a nationally ranked opponent. #7 Midwestern State enters Laredo for a 7 p.m. kickoff on Saturday, Oct. 23.
