Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Dustdevils Stifled By Chaps In 1-0 Loss

LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas A&M International men's soccer was unable to come away with a road victory against Lubbock Christian, as the Chaps (6-5-1, 3-1-1 LSC) came away victorious against the Dustdevils (5-9-1, 2-4-0 LSC) 1-0.

The contest was all Chaps based on the stat sheet, as Lubbock Christian peppered as many shots as they could the way of TAMIU goalkeeper, sophomore Naxto Faus and their defense was nearly impenetrable.

The Chaps outshot the Dustdevils 18-3 in the contest, despite only five shots on goal. TAMIU was limited to just one chance on net in 90 minutes.

The lone goal of the contest came at 75:39 when Tariq Bakkali scored the game-winner for Lubbock Christian.

Faus stopped four of the five shots he faced on net for the game.

Senior's Kristian Colaci and Johan Portales each took a shot on the night, while sophomore Gabriel Gacovicaj had the lone shot on goal.

TAMIU returns to the friendly confines of the Dustdevil Soccer Complex for a 7 p.m. kickoff on Saturday, Oct. 30 against UT Tyler in a rematch of Sept. 25 non-conference clash. It was the Patriots victorious that night in Tyler, Texas, 4-3.
