LAREDO, Texas – Texas A&M International women's soccer was just over four minutes away from snapping its winless streak, but a late St. Edward's goal and overtime winner, topped the Dustdevils, 2-1.

TAMIUÂ (1-9-0, 0-5-0 LSC) jumped ahead 21:42 into the contest when senior
Valeria Macias found the back of the net on an assist by
Krysan St. Louis to make the score 1-0.

The next 64 minutes of game time were a stalemate, with both teams playing extremely well defensively, limiting any chances by the opposition.

With 4:20 remaining in the contest, St. Edward's (5-2-2, 3-0-1 LSC) was able to break the 1-0 Dustdevil lead and pave the way for overtime.

In the overtime period, a TAMIU foul in the box led to a game-winning Hilltopper penalty, sealing the 2-1 victory.

TAMIU was outshot in the contest 10-6 and only had two shots on goal to St. Edward's four.

Macias took two shots, putting both on goal for the Dustdevils, while junior
Vivian Martinez had two shots as well, including one that that hit the crossbar.

TAMIU takes to the road this Saturday, when they travel to Wichita Falls, Texas to face Midwestern State. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
