LAREDO, Texas – Texas A&M International men's basketball swept the weekend in Colorado, defeating University of Colorado-Colorado Springs 77-72.

The first half was as even as it could be as neither team held a lead by more than four points until the 7:53 mark when the Dustdevils (6-0, 0-0 LSC) took a seven point, 22-15 lead.

The Mountain Lions (5-1, 0-0 RMAC) tied the game at 26-26 late first half, but TAMIU scored eight of the final 12 points to lead 34-30 at the half.

The Dustdevils rallied to shoot 39.2% (11-for-28) from the field over the first 20 minutes and were on fire from three, making seven of 11 attempts.

TAMIU lost its lead in the second half, but the deficit was no more than one point, at 49-48. From there, the Dustdevils went on a 7-0 run to regain a six-point lead halfway through the second half.

UCCS would take the lead 60-59 with 7:08 remaining in the half, before TAMIU again took a minimal lead before the game was tied at 62-62.

The Dustdevils over the next couple minutes would hold two five point leads, but the Mountain Lions tied the game yet again with 2:37 left at 69-69.

TAMIU would ice the game with an 8-3 run down the stretch to end the night victorious, 77-72.

On the night, the Dustdevils shot 43.9% (25-for-57) and a superb 60% (9-for-15) from deep. TAMIU also had 27 attempts at the free-throw line, capitalizing on 18.

The ThunderWolves finished the game with a shooting percentage of 46.2% (24-for-52), 3-for-11 from three and 21-for-27 from the charity stripe.

Despite being outrebounded 35-34, the Dustdevils won the turnover battle 17-14.

Four Dustdevils finished in double figures, with senior
Greg Bowie II leading the way with 17 points.

Jermaine Drewey followed with 15 points (5-for-9 from field) and a team high six rebounds, while junior
La-Quiem Walker and freshman
Anthony Scott both chipped in with 14 points.

TAMIU returns to Laredo for two non-conference matchups against Lone Star Conference foes this coming week. Angelo State is the first to enter town and tip-off on Thursday, Dec. 2 is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
