LAREDO, Texas – Texas A&M International volleyball played its final home game of the season, unfortunately falling to St. Edward's 3-1 on a day nine seniors were recognized.

Despite the loss, history was seen twice by the fans in attendance, as senior
Maison Kosse became just the fourth Dustdevil in program history to amass 2,000 career assists, while fellow senior
Mackenzie Catalina broke a 13-year record and now sits atop the book for most kills in a career.

The Dustdevils (4-18, 4-11 LSC) dropped the first two sets to the Hilltoppers (13-9, 8-7 LSC) 25-12 and 25-15.

Set one was tied 7-7 before St. Edward's found a groove to end the set on an 18-5 run. Set two saw TAMIU leading 3-2 early, but another big Hilltopper run of 16-4 gave St. Edward's an 18-7 lead and a 2-0 match lead.

In set three's 25-21 Dustdevil victory, the game was back-and-forth the entire time, within two or three points, until TAMIU used a 3-0 run to open a four point, 22-18 lead before closing the win and forcing a fourth set.

Trailing 2-1, set four this time was in favor of St. Edward's. The Hilltoppers jumped ahead early to a 14-7 edge, but the Dustdevils fought back to get the set within to at 22-20. St. Edward's would hold on to take the set and the match, 25-21.

Catalina had another stellar performance, with 23 kills for a second consecutive night. Sophomore
Ariana Guerra followed with 11 kills.

Three players reached double-figures in digs, with sophomore
Daniela Sandoval leading the way with 23, followed by Catalina's 19 and Kosse's 10.

Kosse had another big game in the assist department, ending the afternoon with 39.

TAMIU has one final weekend remaining to the 2021 season and will take to the road, beginning with UAFS on Friday, Nov. 12 at 6 p.m. from Fort Smith, Ark.
