LAREDO, Texas – Texas A&M International women's soccer (3-3-1, 2-2-1 LSC) took to the pitch for the last time in the 2021 Spring regular season against #10 Angelo State (7-0-0, 5-0-0 LSC), falling to the Rambelles 5-0.
TAMIU opened the game in control of the attack over the first 10 minutes, but it was Angelo State who notched the opening goal at 14:19 when Gabby Villagrand found the back of the net.

The rest of the first half remained scoreless with the score reading 1-0 after 45 minutes.

In the first half, the Dustdevils outshot the Rambelles 6-5 and put four shots on goal to Angelo State's three. Corner kicks were also in favor of TAMIU, 4-2.

The Rambelles then struck for four goals in the second half in the victory.

At 49:59, Cindy Rodriguez scored to make it 2-0, followed by goals at 55:29 by Valerie Solis, 63:35 by Avery McNeme and a goal by Madison Maxey at 89:57.

For the game, the Dustdevils were outshot by Angelo State 18-9, including 13-3 in the second half. Shots on goal were in favor of the Rambelles 14-6 and corner kicks were even at five.

Senior
Valeria Macias led the way for TAMIU offensive taking three shots, with one on target. Junior
Tritch Ann Grant followed putting both her shots on net, while four other Dustdevils put their single shot on the cage.

Freshman
Alicia Huerta faced 14 shots on goal in the loss, stopping nine that came her way.
TAMIU now prepares for the Lone Star Conference Tournament that will begin on Saturday April 3. The Dustdevils will host the opening round matchup and are set to meet St. Mary's for the third time this season, as both teams split their respective home contests.
