Dustdevils Fall Short Against Rambelles 2-0

SAN ANGELO, Texas – Texas A&M International women's soccer returned to the road to square off against nationally ranked Lone Star Conference foe Angelo State in conference action on Wednesday. At the end, it was the Rambelles (7-1-0, 2-1-0 LSC) toppling the Dustdevils (1-7-0, 0-3-0 LSC) 2-0.

Both goals scored by Angelo State came in the first 20 minutes of the contest. The Rambelles first goal came at 11:30 of the first half, and the goal to make the score 2-0 came at 19:14.

TAMIU struggled to keep offensive pressure on the night, trailing in shots 20-3. However, the Dustdevils defense did limit the number of quality shots taken by the Rambelles, allowing just six to reach the net, despite only having one themselves.

Senior Valeria Macias, junior Vivian Martinez and sophomore Krysan St. Louis all had a shot taken in the contest, with Macias putting the lone shot on goal.

TAMIU looks to right the ship, when it returns home to face Texas Woman's on Saturday. Kickoff from TAMIU is scheduled for 12 p.m.
