Dustdevils Upset #18 Mustangs 1-0

WICHITA FALLS, Texas - Texas A&M International men's soccer won its first Lone Star Conference game of the season, doing so in upset fashion, defeating #18 Midwestern State 1-0.

it was late game heroics to seal the victory, as junior Tajani Fairclough netted his second goal of the season at the 76:53 mark, the game winner, assisted by freshman Nico Weigandt.

TAMIU (3-5-6, 1-2-2 LSC) had just one other shot on goal in the 90 minutes and a total of 12 for the game. The Mustangs (8-3-2, 2-3-0 LSC) had 17 total shots and six on the frame.

Leading the way offensively for the Dustdevils was Fairclough taking four shots and placing both of TAMIU's shots on net.

Junior goalkeeper Robin Verhoeven picked up his sixth clean sheet of the campaign making six stops.

The Dustdevils now return home looking for their first win streak of the season as they host Lubbock Christian at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 19.
