Dustdevils Pick Up First LSC Victory, 3-2 Over OCU

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. - Texas A&M International women's soccer picked up its first conference victory of the season, upending Oklahoma Christian 3-2.

TAMIU (4-5-5, 1-3-5 LSC) jumped ahead just 5:31 into the game, as junior Krysan St. Louis scored her fourth goal of the season off an assist from junior Lucia Cuadra.

Oklahoma Christian (3-7-4, 1-6-2) scored the next two goals. At 35:08, the Eagles tied the game 1-1 heading into halftime, then took a 2-1 lead just 4:20 into the second half.

The Dustdevils would then pull out the offensive fireworks late. With 8:48 remaining, Cuadra tied the game with her first goal as a Dustdevil on an assist from junior Marta Forne.

Then, with 1:16 left, senior Irene Robles scored her first goal of the season to give TAMIU the late game winner.

The Dustdevils didn't lead the way in the shot department as they trailed 14-12, but both teams did have seven shots on goal each.

Five players had two shots in the game, leading TAMIU, and Robles was the leader in shots on goal as she had two on the frame.

The Dustdevils look to make the win a streak as they conclude their final road trip on Wednesday, Oct. 19 against UT Permian Basin in Odessa, Texas. Opening kick is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
