LAREDO, Texas – Texas A&M International women's soccer gave all it had against #1 DBU on Saturday, but the top team in the country scored with just 37 seconds left to hand the Dustdevils a 2-1 defeat.

Through 41 minutes of play, the game sat at a scoreless tie, until DBU (13-1-1, 9-1-1 LSC) netted the opening goal at 41:23.

The Dustdevils (4-6-6, 1-4-6 LSC) responded quickly, as junior
Lucia Cuadra scored her second of the season just 1:55 seconds later to tie the game 1-1. Assisting Cuadra on the goal was fellow junior
Alicia Martinez.

The score went into the half tied and was tied until the 89:23 mark, when the Patriots netted the game-winner with 37 seconds left to hold off TAMIU's attempt to steal a point against the nation's top team.

The Dustdevils were outshot in the game 17-5 and 11-1 in shots on goal. DBU also had nine corners, while TAMIU had none.

Five Dustdevils had a single shot on goal, while Cuadra had the lone on target that made it past the keeper.

Fabiana Solano was incredible, stopping nine of 11 shots she faced on the cage.

TAMIU returns home Friday, Oct. 28 for the regular season finale as it welcomes #15 West Texas A&M to Laredo. Opening kick is slated for 2:30 p.m.
