SAN ANGELO, Texas – Texas A&M International women's basketball ended the weekend against Angelo State, and saw the Rambelles come out victorious, 71-52.

TAMIU (4-3, 0-1 LSC) stuck around early, but it was Angelo State (6-1, 2-0 LSC) who opened up a nine-point lead in the quarter before leading 17-11.

The Dustdevils trimmed the lead in the second down to four and five at two separate points, but the Rambelles would ultimately take a lead of 37-28 into the locker room.

In the second half, TAMIU would be outscored 34-24 in route to the final score.

For the game, the Dustdevils shot 31.5% (17-for-54) from the floor and were 4-for-20 (20%) from deep. At the free throw line, TAMIU would make 14 of 42 a 63.6% clip.

On the other side, Angelo State shot 43.5% (27-for-62) from the field, 4-for-14 (28.6%) from three and 13-for-15 (86.7%) from the charity stripe.

Rai Brown led the team with 13 points and five rebounds, while fellow junior
Clara Fernandez scored a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds.

Evelyn Quiroz would put up nine points alongside five rebounds and four assists.

The Dustdevils return to action on Thursday, Dec. 8 when they open Lone Star Conference home action against Lubbock Christian at 6 p.m.
