Box Score LAREDO, Texas - Texas A&M International Men's Soccer made an opening impact, but it was Regis on top in the end.
The Dustdevils struck first with 56 seconds left in the first period as
Lassana Diakite snuck in behind to finish off the attempt from
Tajani Fairclough.
TAMIU held the 1-0 lead into halftime, but Regis started the scoring late in the second half. In the 61st minute, Regis found the back of the net for the first time, then off of a penalty kick again in the 66th minute.
The physicality was evident as a battle between the teams continued until the 90 minutes concluded. Regis outshot the Dustdevils 6-5, but both teams tied with shots on goal at 4.
Goalkeeper
Robin Verhoeven faced six shots from the opposing team and made two saves.
The Dustdevils play their second game of the TAMIU Classic this Saturday, Aug. 27th, at 7:00 pm against Colorado Mesa.
