LAREDO, Texas – Texas A&M International women's soccer opened the 2022 campaign with a shutout, defeating Missouri Western State, 1-0.
 
The lone goal of the game came just 2:07 in, as junior Krysan St. Louis scored on assists from two newcomers, juniors Lucia Cuadra and Alicia Martinez.
 
TAMIU was outshot 9-8 in the game, 7-5 in shots on goal and 8-2 in corner kicks, but allowed few quality chances out of the seven shots on target.
 
Junior Fabiana Solano was perfect in goal, stopping all seven shots she faced for the shutout, the second of her collegiate career.
 
The Dustdevils now have a week to prepare for Regis, who travels to Laredo for a 5 p.m. kickoff on Friday, Sept. 2.
