Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Dustdevils Fall Short Against RV Angelo State 1-0

LAREDO, Texas - Texas A&M International women's soccer lost a hard fought 1-0 match against RV Angelo State in the Lone Star Conference opener.

It was a stalemate over the first 45 minutes as the Dustdevils (3-3, 0-1 LSC) and Rambelles (6-0-1, 1-0 LSC) remained tied at 0-0.

It wasn't until the 72:09 mark when Angelo State found the back of the net for the lone goal of the evening.

TAMIU had a late chance as time was winding down but just missed the mark in what could've been the game tying goal.

For the game, the Rambelles held a 14-6 edge in shots, but a slim 4-3 edge in shots on goal. Corner kicks also favored Angelo State, 4-1.

Junior Krysan St. Louis led the team with two shots, while five others had a shot each. St. Louis and fellow juniors Alicia Martinez and Marta Forne combined for the three shots on goal.

The Dustdevils will look to halt the brief three game slide when they take the pitch on Saturday, Sept. 17 at 12 p.m. against Texas Woman's in Denton, Texas.
