LAREDO, Texas – Texas A&M International University athletics saw great success in the classroom for the 2022 Fall semester, as eight of 11 programs saw team grade point averages above a 3.0 and 25 student-athletes had a perfect 4.0.

Four women's programs and four men's programs made the eight teams to put together team GPA's above a 3.0 with women's basketball topping the list with a 3.59 GPA.

Women's golf earned a GPA of 3.41, while women's soccer's 3.33 GPA and volleyball's 3.27 GPA were the top four on the list.

Placing fifth on the list was men's golf who also finished above a 3.2 at 3.24, while men's soccer and men's cross country both earned GPA's of 3.19 and 3.17 respectively.
Men's basketball was the eighth team above a 3.0 for the semester, earning a 3.08 GPA.

The eight programs to earn team GPA's above a 3.0 consist of 122 student-athletes out of the 206 at TAMIU, nearly 60% of the student-athlete population.
