Dustdevils Battled to Draw on Senior Night

Laredo, Texas – Texas A&M International men's soccer fought to a 1-1 draw against Eastern New Mexico on senior night on Wednesday. 

 

The Dustdevils (6-5-4, 2-3-2 LSC) scored in the 40th minute when Johan Portales scored off the assist from Lassana Diakite. TAMIU's defense held strong the rest of the first half and held the Greyhounds (4-6-5, 2-2-3 LSC) to just two shots in the first half. 

 

The Dustdevils continued to stay strong on defense for most of the second half, but Eastern New Mexico battled back in the closing moments and scored in the 89th minute off a corner kick. 

 

TAMIU totaled 11 shots, four of which were on goal and the Greyhounds finished with six shots, three of which were on goal. 

 

Gal Grodeski recorded two saves as goalkeeper. 

 

The Dustdevils are in action next at 7 p.m. on Saturday, October 28 at St. Mary's (7-3-6, 1-1-5 LSC).
